BNP Paribas Fortis named Best Bank, Best Investment Bank and Best Bank for ESG in Belgium by Euromoney
BNP Paribas Fortis was awarded the titles of ‘Best Bank’, ‘Best Investment Bank, and ‘Best Bank for ESG’ (Environment, Social, Governance) in Belgium from the international financial magazine Euromoney, at its annual awards ceremony held in London on 18 July.

Our bank’s receipt of the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024 follows an industry survey and in-depth investigation conducted by Euromoney’s journalists and researchers. They assessed BNP Paribas Fortis’ financial health, ability to deliver growth, relative performance against competitors, and ability to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs. The Euromoney jury particularly noticed:
- The successful integration of bpost bank into BNP Paribas Fortis in January 2024, with 1 million customers transitioning to BNP Paribas Fortis.
- The launch of new payment packages, which offer retail customers a wide choice to put together their own daily banking options according to their needs.
- BNP Paribas Fortis’ efforts to finance sustainable mobility* and living** for its customers, as well as its focus on the social component in the transition to sustainability***.
- BNP Paribas Fortis’ position in investment banking in Belgium. The bank has achieved this thanks to the specialisation, quality and breadth of our services to corporate and institutional clients in Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity Capital Markets and Debt Capital Markets.
Michael Anseeuw, CEO: “Client care is at the heart of our business, underpinned by the continuous renewal and expansion of our offering. The awards from Euromoney underline our position as a reference in Belgium in this respect.
Our focus remains, through maximum investment in people and technology, on developing a growth-oriented and accessible bank with attention to sustainability, at the service of our clients. These principles guide all our actions: the development of our IT applications, the diversification of our distribution channels, the expansion of our mobile banking app with new services and the development of solutions to today's social challenges. In the latter respect, the ‘Best Bank for ESG’ award is an extra boost.
I would like to thank our clients for their continuedtrust in BNP Paribas Fortis and our employees for their commitment. They are the real winners of these awards.”
Didier Beauvois, Head of Corporate Banking: “I am very proud that Euromoney has awarded us the ‘Best Investment Bank’ trophy in Belgium for the fifth consecutive year. It is recognition of the consistent quality of our integrated services to this client segment, thanks to the collaboration of our expert teams and the global reach of Corporate & Investment Banking of BNP Paribas.”
